Knecht intercepts ball on final play to propel Groton to an overtime win over Britton-Hecla

• Groton Area overcame miscues and penalties to make the big plays in a 26-20 overtime win over Britton-Hecla Friday in Britton.
• Groton scored first when the Tigers had four plays, two first downs and going 64 yards to take a 6-0 lead. A big play in that drive was Parker Rossow passing to Reilly Ell for a 23 yard pass play. Groton's offensive line then made a hole for Nick Johnson who wheeled through the opening and darted 39 yards to score with 6:59 left in the first quarter.

The PAT kick was no good and Groton had a 6-0 lead. "Our coaching staff did a really good job getting the kids ready for this game," said Coach Shaun Wanner. "Scott Thorson worked on the offensive line and there were times we had four sophomores on the line."
• Groton Area would later would start a drive deep in its own territory, at the eight yard line. A penalty followed by an interception by Landon Olson but the Braves in good field position.
• Britton-Hecla would start its drive from the Groton 13 yard line. Eleven seconds, two plays and one first down later, Kyle Werner would score on a 13-yard pass from Landon Olson. Dalton Locke blocked the
