• The new merger with the Bath Fire Department had its baptism under fire and seemed to go well. The Bath firemen responded along with the Groton firemen and were on the scene early, along with their grass rig and a tanker. Grass trucks from

Andover, Claremont and Aberdeen Rural also assisted in fighting the fire. The Conde Fire Department was on standby. Also assisting was Brown County Emergency Management Services, Brown County Sheriff's Office and the Groton Police Department.
• Bahr wanted to thank Rix Farms were the tractor and disk used to build fire breaks around the fire and the Groton Dairy Queen for the burgers and fries to feed the firemen.
