Greetings from Bloomington, Minn.
• I am at the annual conference for demand response (load management) and electric metering. I have been going to these conferences for several years and every time I go, I learn about things I can do with our existing system. There is so much more to our system than just reading meters and doing load management. It's like buying a car with a bunch of bells and whistles, but you don't use them.
• Part of the problem lies with all of this data is what do you do with it. A person can get overwhelmed with

then data and get lost in the data sphere. One has to pick your priorities and dig in.
• I arrived here Sunday night, or should I say Monday morning. It was shortly after midnight when I arrived. I have classes through Thursday noon. Tina has been doing the paper routes in the morning and she has already told me that I can have them back on Friday. Her nephew, James, has been staying at the house in my absence Tina continues to work at nights.
• Julianna and Jeslyn have been fascinated with my ability to run the office computer from Bloomington. They think it's really neat watching stuff happen on the screen with no one sitting in the chair. "How do you do that?" they asked. It's kind of like magic.
• Monday night I had to have Julianna help me with the camera card. I had to have her take the card out of the camera and put it into the printer so I could download the pictures. I do it so often that I had a difficult time explaining it. It took a couple of times, but she got it done. Then she said, "If you need help with anything else, let me know. I can help."
• Char just dropped off the camera and she put the card in the printer. She covered three things today. First I will upload the photos to the Shutterfly account. Then I will process the photos. In case you are not aware, you can order reprints online at 397news.com and click on "Ordering Reprints."
• It is nice not getting up at 4:00. I can get up later and get the GDI out and still have time to work on the weekly, which will come out sometime this week.
