Bernice Fliehs, Marvin Fliehs, Bob Pray, Dorraine Green and Ruth Pray celebrated their 70th Class reunion and birthday for Bob and Marvin. Unable to attend were classmates Audrey Thurston and Betty Weihrauch. Dorraine was also in class of 1942 as was her late husband, Manley. Janice Fliehs attended for her late husband Irvin Fliehs who was served by Ruth and Bob and later they all played cards.

Alexis Simon a member of the Putney Putovers 4-H club gave her purple ribbon winning foods demonstration at the September meeting of the Groton Garden Club at the home of Beverly Sombke Monday evening. Her demonstration titled " Making Chinese Fried Rice with Shrimp Sauce" was observed by nine members, each receiving a sample of her easy to make and nutritious food. Alexis is the daughter of Nick and Jamie Simon of Groton and will be a third year 4-H Club member, she was accompanied by her mother Jamie.
