SDSU adds another FBS opponent, Iowa State

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota State has reached an agreement to play Iowa State in the opening game of the 2018 football season.
• The game is scheduled Sept. 1, 2018, in Ames, Iowa. The teams also played there four years ago, with Iowa State winning 44-17.
• SDSU is an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision school, while Iowa State plays in the upper-tier Football Bowl Subdivision. SDSU now has four games against FBS schools scheduled in upcoming seasons. The other three are at Nebraska in 2013, at Missouri in 2014 and at Minnesota in 2015.

USD service honors those who donated bodies

• VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- The University of South Dakota's health science and medical schools on Friday will host a service to honor those who donated their bodies to medicine.
• The eighth annual memorial service honors family members by recognizing the

contribution of their loved ones who gave to the study of medicine.
• Faculty, staff and students from the medical, physician assistant, occupational therapy and physical therapy programs will share testimonials and thank to family members in attendance.
• The service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the atrium of the Andrew E. Lee Memorial Medical and Science Building.
• Event coordinator Carleen McNeely says the service provides an opportunity for donors' families to know that their loved one was treated with care and respect.

SD Stockgrowers Association holding convention

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association is holding its annual convention and trade show in Rapid City Friday through Sunday.
• The convention, in its 121st year, will be held at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center.
• R-CALF USA President George Chambers will be the keynote speaker on Friday night.
• The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association represents livestock ranchers in the state.
• The group was formed in 1880 as the Stockgrowers Association for Territories of Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska with 44 ranchers in attendance.
