High pressure will slowly move east today as winds turn southerly and help usher in warmer air. Skies will be mostly cloudy during the morning with increasing sunshine during the afternoon, especially for western and central South Dakota. High to extreme fire danger will persist today and Wednesday as dry air remains in place and gusty northwest winds develop by Wednesday afternoon.
