• The past eleven months, Andee Geist, a Groton Area senior, participated in a foreign exchange program. Geist moved to Germany on July 31, 2011 and returned in late June  2012. Andee is the daughter of Tim and Betty Geist, of Conde. Andee's older sister, Shanna, graduated from Groton in 2011. Andee spent 11 months living with a host family in Germany. She says going to Germany changed her life in so many ways, and really enjoyed everything about her experience.
• Geist says her favorite part of Germany was the German city of Munich. She spent a day in Munich before going on a vacation to Austria. If you don't know Andee, she loves history, and the old European cities fascinated her. The oldest part of the city is called the "Altstadts," and these were her favorite part.
