Putney Putovers

• The Putney Putovers 4-H Club met Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Groton Community Center.  President Ashley Gibbs led the meeting and roll call was answered with "Your favorite part of the Brown County Fair".  Taryn Taylor led the US pledge, Shyla Larson led the State Pledge and Joellen Gonsoir led the 4-H Pledge.  The secretary's report was read and approved -1st-Shyla Larson and 2nd-by Joellen Gonsoir.  Treasurer Emma Donley gave the treasurer's report.  It was accepted, moved by Portia Kettering and seconded by Michaela Cutler.  Joann Donley and Chris Wheeting each had a bill.  Carly Wheeting and Amanda Kittelson made the motion to pay these bills.  Shyla Larson gave her community service report stating that she pulled weeds in the rock around her Grandma's house.  Carly Wheeting also had a community service report saying she made bars and served supper at the Andover Threshing Bee.  Carly Wheeting also helped other 4-H members get their animals ready at the Brown County Fair.
• Old Business was discussed at the meeting reminding all members to pick up their 4-H projects at the Extension Office if they have not already done so, and members were also reminded that 4-H Record Books are due to the leaders by Monday, September 17th.  Also, members were asked to write thank you notes to the sponsors for the events, ribbons and honors they received at the fair. 
• New Business:  The Newshound was read and important dates were highlighted to the members.  We were all told of the 4-H Recognition Event which will be held Sunday, November 4th at 2:00pm at the Ramada in Aberdeen.  Our club will be putting together the window display at the Groton Elementary School to promote National 4-H Week in October.  Each member was asked to bring 2-3 projects to display in the glass cases prior ( 5:30pm) to our next meeting, Tuesday, October 9th at 6:00pm.  Hostesses at the next meeting will be Brenna Johnson and Josie LaMee, with Brenna Johnson and Michaela Cutler reporting on their community service projects.  The meeting was adjourned by Joellen Gonsoir and seconded by Alexis Simon. 
• Talks were given by Taryn Taylor-"Mothers of Angels" , Lucas Simon-"About 4-H Camp" and Tage Tayloy, "Jump Start Your Holiday Shopping".  A demonstration was given by Lucas Simon called, "How to Make a Bleach T-Shirt".  Alexis and Lucas Simon were the host and hostess for the meeting.
