• Groton almost scored in the fourth quarter. The Tigers got the ball close to the goal line before losing control of the ball which then rolled into the endzone and was recovered by Milbank for a touchback.
• "We will get better with each game," Wanner said. "The kids are playing hard and practicing hard. They want to win and we should have a good shot at our homecoming game." Groton will play Redfield-Doland this Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Pheasants are 0-3 and Groton is 0-4, so one team will get its first win.
