The Life of LaVern Baule

• Services for LaVern "Vern" Baule, 89, of Andover will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.  Rev. Hyle R. Anderson will officiate.  Burial will take place in the Andover City Cemetery.
• Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.
• Vern died September 7, 2012 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen. 
• LaVern Raymond Baule was born at the family farm near Andover, on January 14, 1923 to John and Minnie (Pigors) Baule.  He was baptized as an infant, confirmed in 1937, and was a life

long member at Andover Zion Lutheran Church.  Vern graduated from Andover High School.  He continued to work on his parents farm North of Andover and later owned and operated it. 
• On June 22, 1974, he united in marriage with Wilma Janzing at Zion Lutheran Church, Andover, SD.  She passed away April 24, 1998 and is buried in Chamberlain, SD.
• In his later years he lived at LaVern, MN and was employed by Lampert's Lumber Company.  He then moved to Chamberlin where he was employed by Al's Oasis Grocery Store at Ocoma, SD.  In 1998, he returned to the farm near Andover and was employed by Baule Enterprise.  Vern entered Golden Living Center in Groton in October of 2008.
• Special interests included fishing, carpentry, welding, and mechanics.  He was known for putting up and maintaining fences. Vern enjoyed harvesting with family.  Family members remember him as a happy man who enjoyed people.
• Vern was an active member of the community.  He served the church as Usher, Money counter, President of the local chapter Aid Association for Lutherans for 20 years, Choir member as a young man, Men's club, and one of many volunteer carpenters who built and maintained the church.
• Grateful for having shared his life are many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, his in-laws, step children, and his step grandchildren.
• He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma, two sisters; Vera (Gelhaus) Schlauman and Myrtle Lesner, his twin brother Harry who died in infancy, his brothers; Glenn and Clarence and step-daughter, Linda Karlens.
• Casketbearers will be Dr. David Merxbauer, Larry Merxbauer, Eric Merxbauer, David Merxbauer, Michael Baule, Gary Baule, John Baule and Claire Baule.
