• Allie married Luree Taylor in 1928, and they took over the Furniture and Funeral businesses in 1932 when Helmuth Paetznick died.
• In 1936, Allie and Luree bought a large three story home at 503 N Third in Groton. They made the first floor into the funeral home and used the second and third floors for their family. They had two daughters.
• There was also an ambulance service in conjunction with the funeral home during this time. This service was provided to Groton and the surrounding areas until 1978.
• Allie served as President of the SDFDA in 1950. He was proud of his profession and served his community well. Allie died of cancer in 1957.

Alfred "Allie" Paetznick

• Luree Paetznick managed the two businesses until 1960 when Leonard and Sheila Garness took over for her. Sheila is the youngest daughter of Allie and Luree. Leonard attended Northern State College and South Dakota School of Mines before graduating from Worsham's School of Mortuary Science in 1959.
• The business was given its current name when Leonard and Sheila Paetznick married in 1962. In 1964 they moved the business to its current location, 112 North 3rd St.  Together they bought and remodeled the old Methodist Church building.
• In 1997, the business was sold ECI, however Leonard and Sheila continued to
