Texting while driving simulator set up at fair

• HURON, S.D. (AP) -- A virtual reality driving simulator at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron is highlighting the dangers of texting while driving.
• The simulator from AT&T, the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the South Dakota Safety Council will be set up just outside the expo building's southeast corner on Thursday and Friday.
• The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute Research say that teens text an average of 60 times a day. One text takes a driver's eyes off the road for an average of five seconds, which at 55 miles per hour means the driver is traveling the length of a football field completely blind.
