Black Hills State Univ. opening new Vet Center

• SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) -- Black Hills State University in Spearfish is unveiling its new Vets Center on Monday.
• The center will serve students who are veterans, those currently in the military and their families.
• Tutoring, peer support and mentoring will be available at the new center.
• The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 9:30 a.m. in the lower level of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union. The public is invited to attend.

SD inducting country musicians into Hall of Fame

• CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. (AP) -- A dozen musicians with ties to South Dakota will be inducted into the state's County Music Hall of Fame next month.
• The ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 9 at the Cedar Shore Resort near Oacoma and Chamberlain. The Argus Leader reports that the inductees were chosen from

about 80 nominations
• The musicians being inducted are: Rory Hoffman, Cleo Bee, Stringbean Svenson, Roy King and Larry Yarrow. Also, George Mallory, Elizabeth Foss, John and Susan McNeill, Chip Bradley, Dave Bergquist, and Wagner and Rob Stack will be inducted.

Blizzard rolls into Brookings for 2012-13 season
