2012 SD state livestock judging contest results

• Area 4-H members competed at the State Livestock Judging Contest in Huron recently. Adrianne Schauman won the contest for Brown County in the junior division.
• The Brown County senior team finished in third place in reasons, first in swine judging and was fifth overall. Brown County's junior team finished in second place and was first in both reason and the beef judging. Day County finished in sixth place in the junior division and was fourth in the sheep judging.
• Several members did well in the individual contests. In the senior Division Bailey Ringgenberg was fourth in the swine contest and was 15th overall. Sterling Kappas was fifth in the swine contest and was 60th overall. Braden Miller was 24th overall and Carly Wheeting was 34th overall to round out the senior team.
• Nathan Duerre was the highest placer for the Day County team, finishing in 60th place, while Caly Bornsen was in 79th place.
• In the junior division, Adrianne Schauman was first in reason, first in sheep, second in beef and was first overall Brooke Skoglund was fifth in reasons, fifth in beef and finished 26th overall Kaitlyn Ringgenberg competed the team by finishing in 64th place.
• Kate Helmer was the highest finisher for the Day County team, placing in 13th place. Allison Duerre was 44th, Lance Amundson was 45th and Collin Amundson was 90th.
• In the beginner division, Dylan Schauman was the only Brown County contestant, he finished in 78th place. Day County had several beginners, with the team plac

ing 15th. Kayla Fischer was 40th, Brianna Duerre was 74th, Tanner Amundson was 77th, Miranda Hanson was 80th, Tyler Bornsen was 82nd and Caitlynn Barse was 83rd.
