Groton wins State B American Legion Title

• The State B  American Legion championship game pitted Groton and Flandreau for the second time. Groton's only loss was to Flandreau in an earlier game, but this one was going to be different. Groton was not going to be denied the big trophy this year. It was coming to Groton, and it did as Groton posted an 11-8 win.
• Flandreau tried to get on the board first. Mitch Foster was walked, but he ended up staying at third.
• Groton was going to make sure that they meant business. The bats started cracking and the feet started to hit home plate. Thorson gets on with a fielders choice and scores on a Dalton

Locke single. Brandon Stanley is hit by the pitch and would score on a Jamie Jorgensen long single and Jorgenson would just beat the throw home on a Michael Erickson sacrifice. Dalton Locke hits a single and would score on a Ryan Delzer single. That would give Groton four runs on five hits as Groton took a 4-0 lead at the bottom of the first inning.
