Teeners beat Milbank in pair of games

• Groton's Teener team defeated Milbank in a pair of games played Tuesday night in Groton.
• Groton won the first game, 7-3, scoring four runs in the first inning. Groton scored seven runs on six hits and had three errors. Milbank scored three runs on five hits and had two errors.
• Nick Dalchow was the winning pitcher, pitching six innings, throwing 103 pitches for two runs, three hits, six strike-outs and six walks. Wyatt Larson pitched the last inning, throwing 16 pitches for one run, two hits and one strike-out. Kasey Kurtz was the catcher.
• Drew Planteen had a double and Parker Rossow, Mason Madsen, Dalchow, Larson and Logan Lane each had a hit.
• Groton won the second game, 18-8, in five innings. Groton held an 10-8 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning. Groton scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game.
• Groton scored 18 runs on 16 hits and had two errors. Milbank scored eight runs on four hits and had three errors.
• Spencer Knecht pitched for four and two-thirds innings, throwing 113 pitches for eight runs, three hits, eight strike-outs and 10 walks. Wyatt Larson pitched the last out, throwing seven pitches for one hit and one strike-out. Dalchow was the catcher.
• Lane had two doubles, Knecht had a double and a single, Planteen had two hits, Rossow and Larson each had a double, Madsen, Jackson Doeden and Dalchow each had two hits and Kurtz and Alec Voss each had a hit.
