Nine Brown County 4-H members participated in the 2012 4-H Demonstration Day held at the South Dakota Wheat Growers Office on Thursday, July 12th.  The participants gave a Demonstration, Illustrated Talk, "Project Why", or Public Speech, which related to a 4-H project they were enrolled in.  Each participant could receive a purple, blue, red or white ribbon placing.  Receiving purple ribbons were:  Michael Sperry (2) and Matthew Sperry (2) of Bath; Tara Telkamp (3) of Groton; Dylan Frey and Colin Frey of Claremont; and Peyton Johnson, Ashley Farrand, and Stuart Farrand of Aberdeen. Receiving blue ribbons were Matthew Carpenter of Aberdeen, Trey Wright of Houghton, and Tara Telkamp of Groton (1). The purple ribbon winners will give their presentations at the State Fair over Labor Day weekend as well as at the Brown County Fair on Sunday, August 19^st at 2:00 PM in the Odde Ice arena near the 4-H exhibits.
