Party in the Pasture this weekend

• Plenty of entertainment will be on hand this weekend for the fifth annual Party in the Pasture. The fun kicks off on Friday with a concert by Dustin Evans, followed by a full day of excitement on Saturday.
• The event started in 2008 as a benefit for a member of the community who had been injured on the job and needed help with the medical bills. Because the event was such a big success, a lot of fun, it was decided to make it a yearly event and give the profits to worthy causes.
• In the past money has been given to support the Groton Golf teams, Destination Imagination, and the building fund for the new skate house/ bathrooms for the soccer fields, among others.
• Party in the Pasture is two days filled with fun, starting on Friday with a concert by Dustin Evans, starting at 9:30 and playing until 1 am. Then on Saturday, the mud volleyball will get underway. The event is being coordinated by Nikki Kotzer and teams can contact her at knkotzer@gmail.com or go to the Groton Chamber website to register.
• Don't want to play in the mud? There will also be inflatables, mechanical bulls and a mud pig contest also going on Saturday morning. In the afternoon the trucks will start to arrive for the mud drags, set to start at 1pm.
• The family fun continues on into the evening with the sounds of The Broken Resolve Family Band playing from 7pm to 9 pm (12 and under free for The Broken Resolve when accompanied by a parent), the Eclipse Party Band will start at 9:30 and play until 1 am. There is a $10 cover charge each night.
