Five students will be going through life guard training today and tomorrow in Groton. Reilly Ell, pictured on the right, is studying for the written part o the exam. Other students will be Kelli Hanson, Brenda Madsen, Isaiah Cutler and Karla Pasteur.

Teeners beat Britton twice

• Groton's Teener team went to  Britton earlier this week and came home with a pair of wins.
• Groton won the first game, 13-1, in seven innings.
• Alec Voss was the winning pitcher, throwing 81 pitches for three strike-outs, four walks, four hits and one run. Kasey Kurtz was the catcher.
• Jeric Albrecht, Doeden and Spencer Knecht each had two hits and Drew Planteen, Parker Rossow, and Kurtz each had one hit.
• Groton won the second game, 11-1, in four innings. Albrecht was the winning pitcher, throwing 80 pitches for three strike-outs, eight walks and one run.
• Rossow had a triple and a double, Harder had two hits and Doeden, Albrecht and Lane each had one hit.
• Nick Dalchow was the catcher.
