The Little Church Tug of War
Meeting today

• For over a hundred years the Trinity Episcopal Church has sat on the corner of Third Street and Third Avenue in Groton, but all that may change today. The Brown County Historical Society will be holding their Summer meeting at the church at 2 pm today and one of the topics to be discussed is the fate of the church.
• Over the last week the Independent has reported that the historical society approached the City of Aberdeen regarding donating the building for placement at Wylie Park. Since then it has come to our attention

that the some members may have acted without the full membership approval. The Historical Society has now left the little church in a tug of war of whether to stay or to go.
• On January 21, 2012, the historical society held their annual meeting and talked about how the church could be utilized more. According to the official minutes of the meeting, "There was some discussion about the future of the Episcopal Church in Groton, which is the property of the Brown County Historical Society,
but no action was taken." The minutes also state that Dennis White will look into some possibilities and report back at a later date. Since the annual meeting, there has not been an official meeting held by the historical society, Saturday's meeting will be the first time
