NDSU fans latch on to USD ticket promotion

• FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A number of North Dakota State University football fans have tickets to a game between Colgate and South Dakota, thanks to an unusual two-game ticket promotion.
• USD officials are worried that NDSU fans could fill up Howard Wood Stadium in Sioux Falls for a Coyotes-Bison matchup on Oct. 20, so they offered a promotion where Coyotes fans could get tickets to that game and the Colgate game for $35.
• The Forum newspaper reports that NDSU fans also are taking advantage of the promotion. USD officials didn't intend for that to happen, but ticket operations coordinator Brad Simons says, "if it happens, it happens."
• He says some Bison fans have expressed a willingness to donate the Colgate tickets back to USD.
• NDSU won the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision title last year.
