celeration for other communities as well. Before he comes to Groton, he is training the students in Oakes, N.D., at six in the morning. Budig's workouts are different each day. He said," One day we do some sort of sports specific agility and plyometrics. The second day we will work on strength and conditioning."
• GHS student Maryn Howard seems to enjoy the program. She said," It is making me quicker and keeping me in shape for the summer." Acceleration can be very difficult at times and she knows that for sure but staying positive she says, "I know that it will make me and my team better."
• Alec Voss, who is also participating in the program said, "It helps kids stay up in the morning and stay active. It also helps teammates work together and get better as a team." He also agrees that it is hard work but will pay off when the season starts.
• There is also a pre-acceleration group consisting of some elementary students preparing for what is soon to come in high school sports. The young students come in every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to work on similar activities the older kids are doing.  The program is directed by Scott Thorson.
• These Groton athletes are giving up a little bit of their mornings this summer for being the best they can be. Whether it is pre-acceleration or acceleration, these kids are working hard to represent our town well.
