Barn burns in Frederick

• A fire that was likely caused by fireworks destroyed a barn in Frederick, said Patti Woods of the Brown County Emergency Management Office.
• The fire was reported at 503 W. Main St. in Frederick at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday. Woods said the barn, which was in town, belonged to Gary Schlosser. The barn and hay inside of it were destroyed, but nobody was hurt from the fire, she said. The barn was about 100 years old, she said. Some grass around it was also burned, but no other buildings were damaged, she said.
• Fire departments from Frederick and Hecla responded as did the Brown County Sheriff's Office and Brown County Emergency Management.
