Sioux Falls man arrested after 4-hour standoff

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A Sioux Falls man was arrested on an aggravated assault charge after a Fourth of July standoff with police that lasted more than four hours.
• Officers were called to the scene about 2:30 a.m. by a man who said a cousin had chased him from a residence with a knife. Officers called in a SWAT team and a crisis negotiation unit after unsuccessfully trying to coax the suspect from the home.
• The 20-year-old man eventually surrendered without incident.

SD casino robbery suspect arrested after car crash

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Police say a man suspected of robbing a Rapid City casino was arrested after crashing his car and unsuccessfully trying to hide in a culvert.
• The 25-year-old man was arrested late Tuesday on several charges including robbery. Authorities say a Rapid City officer and his canine partner tracked down the man after he crashed his vehicle following a chase.

• The man is accused of using a pistol that shoots plastic pellets to hold up the King of Hearts Casino.
