Legion splits with Milbank

• Two games were played with way different results at Milbank last night as the Legion team split a pair of games.
• Groton easily won the first game, 27-0, as Jamie Jorgensen pitched his second no-hitter of the season. Groton scored 27 runs on 20 hits and had no errors. Milbank had three errors.
• Nine Groton batters were walked: Jorgensen 3, Kalen Kjellsen 2, Michael Erickson 2, Brandon Stanley 1, Eric May 1. Jorgensen and May were also hit by a pitch.
• Zach Herron had four hits, Matt Thorson had a triple and two singles, Stanley had a double and  two singles, Kjellsen had three hits, Ryan Delzer had a double and a single, Mitch Madsen had two hits, Jorgensen had a double and Erickson had a hit.
• Jorgensen had two strike-outs in the four-inning game.
• The pendulum swung the other way in the second game as Milbank won, 17-10. Groton jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first inning, but Milbank had seven runs in the fifth inning and six in the sixth to pull away for the win. Groton scored 10 runs on 10 hits and had two errors. Kjellsen had a double and two singles, Thorson had three hits, May had a double and a single, Jorgensen had a double and Austin Fordham had a hit/ Fordham and Michael Erickson were the pitchers.
• Groton is now 17-5 on the season.
