Teeners split with Watertown

• Groton's Teeners split a pair of games with Watertown on June 25 in Watertown.
• Groton won the first game, 7-6. Groton scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning and left the bases loaded. Watertown scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning and also left the bases loaded as the side was retired.
• Spencer Knecht had two doubles, Alec Oleson and Drew Planteen each had two hits and Parker Rossow, Mason Madsen, Kasey Kurtz and Nick Dalchow each had one hit.
• Madsen pitched the first four innings, throwing 82 pitches for four strike-outs, six hits, four walks, one hit by pitch and five runs. Planteen pitched the last three innings, throwing 53 pitches for two strike-outs, five walks, one hit and one run. Kurtz was the catcher.
• Groton lost the second game, 8-6.Watertown scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take an 8-4 lead. Groton scored two runs in the top of the seventh and left two runners on base.
• Planteen had two doubles, Knecht had one double and two sings, and Rossow, Madsen, Dalchow, Luke Sternhagen and Wyatt Larson each had one hit.
• Knecht pitched the game with seven strike-outs, six hits, three walks and one hit by pitch.
