the high school. More information will be available once the grant opens on July 1, the board will take a closer look at that time.
• Final figures are in on the cost of replacing the old storage shed on the football field. A new tin building will run $3200. The shop class will start the construction once classes start in the fall. The old build building will be removed prior to classes starting.
• Business Manager Mike Weber reported that he is a mite confused by the Day County Auditor. The school district, by state code, is to receive tax money from the Day County Wind Farm by May 1, however Day County isn't sending the money until July 1. The State has also indicated that the money is all to go to the general fund, however Day County has split the funds. Weber will do some more checking into this as it could affect how and when the school received the tax money.
• Weber also recommended several contingency fund transfers to cover year-ending deficits accounts. The transfers were approved as recommended, as was the supplemental budget for capital outlays and special education to bring them in-line with state code.
• Final approval was given following the second reading of several recommended policy amendments and to the elementary and high school handbooks.
• Greg Kjellsen was hired as the JH football coach for the 2012-2013 season at five percent base pay and Kara Paulson was rehired as elementary special needs para professional, at the same rate as when she left.
• The Groton Independent will remain the official school newspaper after submitting their bid. Duane Sinclair also won their bid to provide fuel for the school. Saralee Bakery and Land O' Lakes were the only bid submitters for the bakery and dairy suppliers. Both were granted their bids.
