• Groton Post #39 won the Brandon Valley Tournament held over the weekend by winning three games.
• Groton defeated Garretson in the first game, 14-3. Groton scored 14 runs on 15 hits and had one error. Garretson scored three runs on eight hits and had two errors.
• Dalton Locke was three for three at bat with one run scored and he had a double, Brandon Stanley, Kalen Kjellsen and Jamie Jorgensen each had two hits, Matt Thorson had a double and a single and Mitch Madsen, Zach Herron and Ryan Delzer each had a hit.
• Austin Fordham threw 114 pitches for five strike-outs, four walks, two hit by pitch and eight hits. Delzer was the catcher.
• Groton then defeated Brandon Valley in the second game, 9-5. Groton scored nine runs on eight hits and had two errors. Brandon Valley had five runs on seven hits and three errors.
• Herron had two hits while Stanley, Kjellsen, Jorgensen, Locke, Michael Erickson and Delzer each had one hit.
• Jorgensen pitched for six innings, throwing 113 pitches for four strike-outs, five hits and four walks. Eric May pitched the last inning, throwing 18 pitches for one strike-out and three hits. Delzer was the catcher.
• Groton defeated Luverne, Minn., 10-2. Groton scored 10 runs on 14 hits and had two errors. Luverne had two runs on three hits and had three errors.
• Erickson was three for three at bat with two runs scored, Kjellsen had three hits,
