store gear, and the toolbox is proving to be a hazard as firefighters trip over it moving in and out of the trailer. The cabinets are made to be mounted inside this type of trailer and would add the needed storage up out of the way of the firefighters. The cabinets run about $540 each and would cost about $100 for shipping. The firefighters would do the mounting themselves using heavy duty angle iron brackets. • There has been some speculation on the possibility of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department closing. The board held some discussion on how such a closing would effect the district and the fire department. There are pros and cons to taking on a larger area. The district would receive more money in tax revenue, however, the fire department could be called out on more calls and at a further distance. The Bath Department will be holding a meeting later this week to decide the fate of the fire department and until then the Groton Fire District will wait to see what is decided.
