New Miss South Dakota being crowned next week

• HOT SPRINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Women from around South Dakota will arrive in Hot Springs on Saturday to start four days of rehearsals for the 66th annual Miss South Dakota Pageant.
• Organizers say preliminary competitions are set for Wednesday and Thursday, with a new Miss South Dakota being crowned on Saturday, June 23.
• Anna Simpson of Rapid City is the reigning Miss South Dakota. She represented the state in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January, and has spent the year advocating for volunteerism.


111 become US citizens at Mount Rushmore

• MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) -- People from about 40 nations became U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota on Flag Day.
• The event Thursday featured 111 people swearing
