• After three hours of drinking the men got into Hale's Dodge Sedan, and as he rounded a corner he lost control and ran into a tree in the center median, prosecutors said.Callahan and Arzola were pronounced dead at the scene, and Chleborad was pronounced dead at a hospital hours later.
• Police said Hale's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
• A message left after business hours for Hale's attorney Bill Paparian was not immediately returned, but Paparian told the Orange County Register that Hale was the group's designated driver, that witnesses indicated he had not been drinking and

that the crash was caused by the weather.
• "This was an accident that was caused by rain and hydroplaning," Paparian said.
• Paparian also released a statement from Hale.
• "Every day, I'm faced with the overwhelming and insurmountable grief and loss of not just co-workers, fellow Marines and friends, but the realization that my brothers are gone," the statement said.
