Groton Post beats Flandreau

• Groton took advantage of five sixth-inning errors to add three runs to a final tally of 7-2 in Legion baseball action Sunday in Groton.
• Groton scored two runs in the first as Brandon Stanley started off with a double, then Kalen Kjellsen had a triple and Jamie Jorgensen had a two RBI double. Groton added two more runs in the third as Matt Thorson had a single, Jorgensen a double and Eric May had a two RBI double. Then Groton had three runs in the sixth with no hits as Flandreau had five errors.
• Jorgensen finished the game with two doubles, Kjellsen had a triple, Stanley and May each had a double and Thorson had a single to round out the battery.
• Eric May was the winning pitcher with five hits, two walks, seven strike-outs and one hit-by-pitch.
• Groton scored seven runs on six hits and had one error. Flandreau scored two runs on five hits and had five errors.
