• The sessions scheduled for June 27 in Kadoka, July 11 in Philip and July 18 in Kadoka are geared to local produce growers, food producers and local food-product processors.
• The USDA Rural Development-sponsored training is free. Lakota Funds is sponsoring a meal for registered participants.

Filmmakers in Neb., Iowa, SD to be showcased

• OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Filmmakers from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota will

be featured in a fall showcase in Omaha.
• Nonprofit cinema Film Streams is soliciting submissions for the October showing. It's the third year for the Filmmakers Showcase.
• To be considered, directors must be residents of Nebraska, Iowa or South Dakota or be attending school there. Films of all types are eligible and will be considered by a jury of artists and arts supporters.
• Submissions are due July 25. Selections will be announced in late sum
