• Several area athletes recently competed at the South Dakota State Track Meet. Adam Dutenhoffer, Frederick, was the State Champion in Class B in the Shot Put and Nick Alberts, Langford, finished in second place in the 400-meter dash. In Class A, Groton had one place finisher, Eric May, who finished in fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles.

• Class A:
• 100-meter dash: Ryland Strom had a preliminary time of 11.71 (18th), Nick Johnson 's preliminary time was 12.23 (31st). Courtney Kurtz placed 26^th in the preliminary with a time of 13.85.
• 100-meter hurdles: Kylie Hawkins was 20^th in the preliminaries with a time of 17.23.
• 110-meter hurdles: Eric May finished in 10^th place with a preliminary time of 16.46.
• 300-meter hurdles: Eric May was fourth in the preliminary with a time of 41.50. He advanced to the finials to finish in fifth place with a time of 41.72. Schyler Sattler finished in 12^th place in the preliminaries with a time of 50.21.
• 3200-meter run: Jasmine Schaller placed 22^nd with a time of 13:17.53.
• 400-meter relay (4x100) team of Ryland Strom, Nick Johnson, Clay Wattier and Matt Thorson had a preliminary time of 45.47 and finished 13^th.
• 800-meter relay (4x200) team of  Camille Sippel, Courtney Kurtz, Kaitlyn Sattler and Schyler Sattler finished the preliminaries in 10^th place with a time of 1:52.88.
• 1600-meter relay (4x400) team of Eric May, Ryland Strom, Sebastian Bever and

Matt Thorson had a preliminary time of 3:36.97 to finish 10^th. The girls team of Courtney Kurtz, Camille Sippel, Kaitlyn Sattler and Schyler Sattler finished 21^st with a time of 4:29.45 in the preliminaries.
• Shot Put: Bryce Raap placed 14^th  with a throw of 45'5".
