searching a southwest South Dakota lake for the body of a teenage boy who went missing while kayaking.
• The search for 15-year-old Justin Lewis of Hill City was resuming Thursday morning, with sonar-equipped boats from the state Game, Fish and Parks Department and divers with the Rapid City/Pennington County Water Rescue Team. Deerfield Lake southwest of Rapid City remained closed to other boats.
• Lewis was last seen on May 28 and he is presumed drowned.

SD Guard soldiers heading for Middle East duty

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- More South Dakota National Guard soldiers are on their way to duty in the Middle East.

• The 22 soldiers with Detachment 1, Company B of the 935th Support Battalion are heading to Fort Hood, Texas, for final training after an activation ceremony in Rapid City on Wednesday. They will train in Fort Hood for two months before heading overseas to Kuwait.
• The 935th deployed to Iraq in 2004-05. The soldiers specialize in maintaining and repairing helicopters.
