Legion splits with Sisseton

• Groton left the tying run stranded on second as Sisseton hung on to win the first game Tuesday night in Sisseton, 4-3.
• Michael Erickson was the pitcher with four strike-outs, seven walks, three hit-by-pitch and three hits. Ryan Delzer was the catcher.
• Kalen Kjellsen had a double and a single and Matt Thorson added a single for the Groton battery.
• Groton scored six runs in the first inning to power past the host team in the night cap, 9-3. Ryan Delzer was the pitcher, throwing 92 pitches for six strike-outs, three walks and six hits. Matt Thorson was the catcher.
• Brandon Stanley had two hits and Kalen Kjellsen, Matt Thorson, Eric May, Austin Fordham and Weston Hoglund each had a hit.

Teeners beat Northville

• Groton's Teeners opened its season with a pair of wins Monday night. Groton won the first game, 20-2, in three innings. Mason Madsen was the pitcher with four strike-outs, three hits and three walks. Kasey Kurtz was the catcher.
• Madsen had two hits, Specner Knecht had one, Nick Dalchow had one, Alec Voss had one, Jeric Albrecht had two hits and Kurtz had a double. Twelve Groton batters were walked.
• Groton won the second game, 10-3. Luke Sternhagen was the starting pitcher
