Scott Walker became the first governor in U.S. history to survive a recall effort, defeating Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the Democrat who lost the gubernatorial election to Walker in 2010. • SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Gov. Dennis Daugaard's decision to endorse some Republican candidates over others in legislative races produced mixed results Tuesday as three of the candidates he supported lost in their primary elections while two others won.
