tive of Spearfish, S.D., said she was excited to be closer to home and build on USD's successful program. She said she admires what USD has been able to accomplish in its short time as a Division I competitor.
• USD completed the transition to Division I during the 2011-2012 school year, during which the women's basketball program had a 23-8 overall record -- 16-2 at home and 7-6 away. Their all-time record going into the 2011-2012 season was 598-456.
• "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to pick the brains of all the great coaches in this athletic de

partment," she said during a campus news conference.
• Williams was the first women's basketball coach at Rogers State, where she recorded a 97-65 record during five seasons. The Hillcats were 22-12 last year and advanced to the NAIA Final 8 for the first time in school history.
• Williams previously was an assistant and recruiting coordinator at The University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University. She also served as an assistant coach at the University of Texas-San Antonio from 2000-2001 and a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
• Williams graduated from Nebraska-Kearney with a master's degree in sports administration in 2002. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in 1998, finishing with degrees in biology and mathematics. She was a four-year basketball letter winner at Nebraska.
