Jorgenson throws a no-hitter against Clear Lake

• Groton Post #39 played a near perfect game Friday night against Clear Lake at the Milbank Tournament. Groton had one error, but besides that, Jorgensen had 15 strike-outs and throwing just 68 pitches in the seven-inning game with no walks or hit by pitches.
• Groton won the game, 4-0. Kalen Kjellsen, Matt Thorson, Jamie Jorgensen and Zach Herron each had a hit for Groton. Thorson was the catcher.
• Groton will travel to Milbank again today to continue in the tournament.

Groton sweeps Webster

• Groton Post #39 swept Webster in a  pair of games, 7-0 and 14-2.
• In the first game, Kalen Kjellsen was three for three at bat with two triples, Dalton Locke had a double and a single, and Eric May had a single.
• Ryan Delzer was the winning pitcher, throwing 102 pitches in seven innings with six strike-outs, four walks and three hits. Thorson was the catcher.
• In the second game, Kjellsen was four of five at bat with three runs scored. Delzer had a double and a single, Thorson had a double, Jorgensen and Locke each had two hits and Mitch Madsen and Austin Fordham each had a single.

Groton runs past Redfield

• Post #39 ran past Redfield in the first game of the year, 22-7. Groton scored 22 runs on 18 hits and had two errors. Redfield scored seven runs on eight hits and had five errors.
• Jorgensen was the winning pticher, pitching two and two-thirds innings with four hits, seven walks, six strike-outs and three runs, throwing 78 pitches. Fordham pitched for two and one-third inning, throwing 43 pitches with three walks, five hits and four strike-outs.  Delzer was the catcher.
• Matt Thorson was three for three at bat with four runs scored and two doubles, Eric May had two hits, Madsen had a double and a single, Brandon Stanley had two doubles and a single, Delzer had two hits, Fordham, Locke and Kjellsen each had a single.
