Search resumes for missing South Dakota teenager

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- The search for a South Dakota teenager who went missing while kayaking involves about 100 people and sonar to scan the bottom of the lake.
• The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says the search for 15-year-old Justin Lewis so far has involved family, friends, and local, state and federal authorities, along with officials from organizations such as the Civil Air Patrol and the Red Cross.
• Lewis went missing at Deerfield Lake in the Black Hills on Monday afternoon. Searchers found his kayak filled with water Tuesday morning. The search resumed Wednesday morning.
• In addition to the ground search area expanding, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department is using a boat equipped with sonar to scan the bottom of the lake.

SD man gets 15 years in prison for raping girl

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- An Aberdeen man who once faced nearly two dozen felony sex crime counts has been sentenced to serve 15 years in prison.
• Forty-three-year-old Richard Mette pleaded guilty in March to raping a child younger than 10, and prosecutors dismissed all other charges. The 15-year sentence was part of the plea agreement, and a judge on Tuesday approved it.
• Mette will have to serve at least half of the sentence before being eligible for parole. He was given credit for more than a year he already has served.

Herseth Sandlin going to work for Raven Industries

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Raven Industries has named former South Dakota congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin as the company's attorney and vice president for corporate development.
• Herseth Sandlin has worked as a partner in a Washington, D.C., law firm over the past year. She will begin her duties with Raven Industries on Sept. 1. The Sioux Falls-based company makes an array of specialty products for the agricultural, aviation and construction industries.
• Herseth Sandlin lost her first run for Congress in 2002 but won a special election
