• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Conservative Republican state lawmakers continued Tuesday to criticize Gov. Dennis Daugaard for endorsing candidates in five key

GOP legislative primary races.
• Rep. Manny Steele, R-Sioux Falls, said the Republican governor should stay out of primary races, particularly since he seems to be backing more liberal candidates against conservatives.
• "I felt the governor was totally out of line. He shouldn't be endorsing candidates because he's the executive branch and we're the legislative branch," said Steele, who doesn't face a primary.
