Sole Pine Ridge grocery store reopens Saturday

• PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) -- The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation's sole grocery store reopened Saturday morning.
• Store employee Ramona Vocu (VAH-soo) says Sioux Nation Shopping Center reopened around 9 a.m. About 10 to 20 people were shopping at the store.
• The store was initially closed May 11 after Oglala Sioux President John Yellow Bird Steele filed a temporary injunction following allegations the store was selling outdated meat. A second injunction was filed Thursday amid concerns the store's reopening could spark protests among residents.

• But Vocu says the store opened without any problems Saturday morning. She says she is happy to be back at work.
