Milbrandt earns
hockey awards

Eric Milbrandt, senior at Groton Area High School,  earned several awards in hockey including the Toshiba Academic All State Award, Hobey Baker Character Award, and the Sam Tronnes Memorial Scholarship.  Eric has played hockey for 12 years and is a three- year varsity member of the Aberdeen Cougars.

Principal's Leadership
Award Program

• Erin Sternhagen, a Groton High School senior, was nominated to compete in the national Principal's Leadership Award Scholarship Program, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. 
• Principals in high schools throughout the country could nominate one of their student leaders.  Winners were selected based on their participation in service organizations, clubs, and athletics; achievements in the arts and sciences; employment experience; and academic record. 
• Erin has been involved in choir, Chamber Choir,

Show Choir, band, school musicals, high school soccer, and Star/Torch. She is a National Merit Semifinalist, a member of the National Honor Society, a 4.0 honor student and was selected for Girls State, the Principal's Leadership Award, All State Jazz Band, and SD Honor Choir.  Additionally, Erin volunteers her time as a tutor for GHS Homework Help, is a boy's basketball statistician, and has helped with community events.  Erin is the daughter of Craig and Jodi Sternhagen of Groton.  She plans to attend USD and major in pre-medicine.
