dents attend assemblies with mock victims of drinking and driving accidents, including the reaction from parent who has lost a child.
• This incident in which more than two dozen teens were cited for underage alcohol consumption outside of the home of the Harrisburg School Board chairwoman's house is a reminder that we all need to be vigilant about how and where young people are spending their time.
• Unfortunately, the party at Michelle Schirado's house is not the only one that has happened this year and other years. She's not the only parent that has been home while teens partied nearby, sometimes with permission.
• Neither Schirado nor her husband had been charged in the incident and might never be, but the 25 high school seniors involved, including seven under age 18, will

appear in court and face consequences.
• No one wants to see young people injured or killed because of underage drinking. The incident is a reminder that everyone matters in preventing the unthinkable.

• It's good to see South Dakota leaders working in advance to prepare for what many expect will be an oil boom in this state.
