• Erin Sternhagen, senior at Groton Area High School, was selected as  a recipient of a  P.E.O Star International Scholarship.  The P.E.O Star Scholarship of $2500 is based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics, and potential for future success.  The program

is open to young women in the US or Canada who are seniors in high school.  Each candidate must be recommended by a P.E.O chapter; Chapter AC of Groton recommended Erin. The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded in 1869, in an international philanthropic and educational organization which promotes educational opportunities for women.  There are 6000 local chapters in the U.S. and Canada and 350,000 members.   
• Erin is the daughter of Craig and Jodi Sternhagen of Groton.  She plans to attend USD and major in pre-medicine.
