US Attorney hosting civil rights conference

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office is hosting a civil rights conference in Sioux Falls on Monday.

• Speakers for the afternoon event include assistant attorney general Tom Perez of the U.S. Justice Department's civil rights division and Judy Shepard, the president and co-founder of the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
• Also speaking are Andre Oliver, president of the Sioux Falls Diversity Council, and J.R. LaPlante, South Dakota's secretary for tribal relations.
• Topics include the rights of persons with disabilities, human trafficking and child
