Fire ban lifted on Oahe WMA in south central ND

• BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has lifted the open fire ban on the Oahe (oh-AW'-hee) Wildlife Management Area.
• The area covers more than 16,000 acres along Lake Oahe south of Bismarck-Mandan, in portions of Burleigh, Emmons and Morton counties. Burleigh and Emmons counties also have canceled their burn bans.
• Open fires including campfires were prohibited this spring on Game and Fish-managed property south of Bismarck-Mandan, on both sides of the Missouri River. The agency says recent rains have resulted in a significant green-up in the area.
• Recreationists are still being urged to stay on designated roads and trails.
