• "The alumni and myself would like to thank you (football team) for the new NEC Conference Championship," Schuring said. "It was 1972 the last time Groton won the conference. I also want to thank you for that great game and win over Aberdeen Roncalli to start off the season. The only thing that would have made that game sweeter was a big goose egg for the Roncalli score."
