SD fixing flood-wrecked trails at Farm Island

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota officials say construction crews will begin work Monday to fix the hiking and biking trails at the Farm Island Recreation area along the Missouri River near Pierre.
• The trails were ruined during last year's flooding along the Missouri River when high water dumped sand in some areas on the island and left deep cuts in other areas.
• South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks officials say the trails will be closed during the month-long repair project.


SD man sentenced for involuntary manslaughter

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says a St. Francis man has been sentenced to 37 months in custody for driving drunk and crashing into another car, killing two people.
