Downtown Pierre getting bike racks

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Downtown Pierre is getting bike racks.
• KCCR radio reports that members of the Historic Pierre Street Association and

city officials unveiled the new iron racks with a historic design.
• The Historic Pierre Street Association's Rick Jensen says the racks fit in well with the downtown's renovation efforts and historic theme. He says they provide a way for more people to come downtown.
• Eighteen bike racks are being interspersed on sidewalks and bump out nodes on Upper Pierre Street from Capital Avenue south to Dakota Avenue.
